  1. What the page is telling you
  2. Listening to the translation

Many churches translate their services live. You follow along on your own phone, in your own language. You do not need an app or an account — just the QR code or link your church gives out.

  1. Scan the QR code shown at your church with your phone’s camera, or open the link they shared.
  2. The page picks a language for you — your last choice, the link’s language, or your phone’s. To change it, tap the language name and choose from Caption language.
  3. Captions appear as people speak. To hear the translation as well, plug in headphones and tap the listen button.
  4. Tap Aa (Text size and appearance) to make the text bigger or switch between Light, Dark and Auto.

What the page is telling you

Not live yet
The service has not started. Keep the page open; captions appear as soon as it goes live.
Waiting for the first words
The service is live. Captions appear as soon as someone speaks.
Starting…
Your language is starting. Captions appear in a few seconds.
Connecting… or Reconnecting…
The page is joining, or rejoining after a blip. Captions continue on their own.
No internet connection
Your phone has lost its connection. Captions resume as soon as it comes back — leave the page open.
This service is full
The service has reached its limit of phones. Keep the page open; you join automatically when a place frees up.
This caption link isn’t available
The link has been replaced, or captions are switched off. Scan the current QR code again, or ask a steward for the new link.
Captions are paused
The church has hidden the captions for a moment. They come back when it shows them again.

Listening to the translation

  • Not every church offers translated audio, and not every language has it. If there is no listen button, captions are what this service offers.
  • Audio couldn’t start — tap Listen to retry. Tap the listen button again.
  • Audio is full right now — captions keep going. Too many people are listening; try again later, and read the captions meanwhile.
  • The translated voice is paused. Captions continue. The church has paused the audio; keep reading.
  • If your language is the one being spoken at that moment, there is nothing to translate, and the page says so.
  • The voice runs a few seconds behind the words. Sync text with audio, under Aa, holds the text back so it matches what you hear.
  • On an iPhone or iPad with iOS 15 or older, the audio pauses when you leave the browser. Keep the caption page open on screen.

Still nothing? Ask a steward or the person running the sound — they can see from their screen whether the service is live and captions are going out.
