Between churches

Your church’s data belongs to your church. People, groups, messages, prayer requests, donations and media are not visible to any other organization on SynaiConnect. This is enforced by the system on every single request, not by convention.

The one exception is what you deliberately share through Connect (Community in the sidebar). Other churches only find yours if you turn on Listed in the directory, and then see just its profile — name, denomination, location, size and website. Beyond that, nothing crosses unless somebody at your church shares it, item by item: a group opened to a partner church, or a prayer request or event addressed to your connected churches.

Inside your church

Roles decide what each staff member can reach, and the more sensitive the data, the narrower the permission that opens it.

  • Prayer requests need their own permission, separate from everything else.
  • Producing a complete export of one person is a different permission from viewing the directory — deliberately, because reading a list and compiling a dossier are different acts.
  • Billing sits behind its own permission again, under Settings → Billing.

See Built-in roles for what each role opens.

What members can see

Members see their own church: its feed, the groups they belong to and any groups open for anyone to join, its events, giving and prayer — plus anything a connected church has shared with them. They do not see your People directory, your messaging tools, your donations records or your settings.

People’s rights over their data

Anyone can ask for a copy of the data your church holds about them, or for it to be deleted. Both are available without a login — see the privacy policy, the data request page and account deletion. Both work from the email address on their record: they confirm by clicking the link we email them. A copy arrives as a download link; a deletion takes effect as soon as it is confirmed, at every church that holds that address.
