A paused workspace has not lost anything. Every person, group, message, file and donation record is still there. It is waiting for billing to be sorted out, and it comes back the moment that happens.
Why it paused
| What you see | Why |
|---|---|
| This workspace has no paid plan. | Nothing is paid for. Either the 14 free days that start when an organization is created have ended, or a cancelled subscription has reached the end of its paid period. |
| Billing needs attention before your team can carry on. | A renewal payment failed, and 3 days have passed since the first failure. |
Before a failed payment pauses anything, the Billing page shows A payment failed with how many days are left. Retrying the card does not extend that time; it is counted from the first failure.
Restore it
Only someone who manages the subscription (the Owner, by default) can fix this. When they sign in, they are taken straight to Settings → Billing.
- If a payment failed and the card has changed or expired, add the new one under Payment method first.
- Click Pay now to pay the outstanding invoice, or Choose a plan if the workspace has no plan.
- Everything comes back as soon as the payment goes through. There is nothing to reinstall or re-invite.
What still works while paused
- The Billing page, for the people who manage the subscription.
- Your Profile: changing your password, deleting your account, and signing out.
- Requests to export personal data.
- Your public giving page and public event pages.
Everything else is paused, free features included. Members cannot use the member app for your church, giving in the app included, until the workspace is restored.
Avoiding it next time
- Keep a second card under Payment method.
- Make sure the primary owner’s email address is one somebody reads. Every billing warning goes there.
- Check the date next to Renews under Your plan before a card expires.
