A volunteer project is anything your church needs people to serve on — a food bank shift, a building work day, a welcome team, a one-off clean-up.

  1. Open Volunteers in the sidebar.
  2. Click the round + button (Add volunteer project).
  3. Choose New project — this opens the Create Project tab.
  4. Describe what it is and what a volunteer would actually be doing.
  5. Choose a category. Categories live under Manage categories in the same + menu.
  6. Choose One-time or Recurring, set when it happens, and how many people you need.
  7. Press Publish project — or, under Publishing, choose Schedule or Save as draft first.

Repeating projects

A Recurring project is described once, and on each scheduled day a fresh copy opens with its own list of volunteers, so people sign up for a specific date rather than committing to the whole thing forever. Each one stays open until the next opens, or for the number of days you choose — dates are not published in advance.

Sharing it beyond your members

A project can have a public page reached by a link, so you can recruit outside your congregation — useful for a community project where the whole neighbourhood is welcome to help.

Reminders

Volunteers who signed up in the member app get a push reminder in the 24 hours before a one-off project starts — the single biggest thing that stops people forgetting they said yes three weeks ago. People who signed up through the public page are not reminded, and nothing is sent by email or text.
